9-Day Photographic Adventure
Introduction
This trip takes us into the interior of Iceland. We will be visiting vast black deserts, volcanos, river delta lines, craters and will finish by driving onto a glacier. The first part of the tour will focus on the Fjallabak nature reserve and we will finish up around the kerlingarfjöll area in the northern central highlands.
Arrival & Departure
Our first night together is on the 14th of September. You need to arrive in Reykjavik on the 14th for dinner together at 7pm.
Our final night together is the 21st of September. You are free to depart for the airport any time on the 22nd of September.
Informal small group setting
Bruce likes to run his photography-adventures in a friendly, intimate group setting. This trip has a maximum group size of eight.
Unlike a lot of tours with up to 12 or 16 people on them, running with a smaller number allows everyone to have space in which to photograph. It also means more quality time for Bruce with each participant.
This trip is more of a tour* than Bruce's normal workshops, due to the logistics involved, but you will get a lot of hands on experience from Bruce while at the same time, immerse yourself with plenty of time out in the field on your own.
* Please note that this is not a workshop. It is a photographic tour, focussed on getting you to great locations for the best light.
Required Fitness Level
Moderate Grading
Most locations involve a short walk from the car but you should also be able to walk for up to 30 minutes over uneven and boggy ground with your tripod and backpack.
Payment Terms
Three incremental payments:• Initial Depost of 30% is required to secure your booking.
• Second deposit of 30% six months before the start date.
• Final balance due 3 months before tour start date.
Cancellation Policy
The deposit should be regarded as non-refundable, as we have to pay a deposit to our 3rd party suppliers (hotels, studio spaces, tour operators, guides, etc.) in advance to guarantee the services we have booked on your behalf. In the event of a cancellation initiated by you, should there be any costs that are refundable, we will do our utmost to make a refund to you. All cancellations incur a £250 administrative fee (deducted from any refund) for covering the resources involved in the refilling process.Second Deposit & Final Balance
There is a 2nd deposit required six months before the trip commencement date. The final balance is due 3 months prior to trip departure.Your space is only secured if payment is made on time. We reserve the right to cancel your space if we cannot get in touch with you or your final payment is past due.

Weather
It’s an exposed place with low temperatures. So being out most of the day in the cold and wind can be a little tiring if you are not warm enough. So please bring warm hats, gloves, fleeces, or preferably a down jacket for this time of year. Walking boots and make sure all your clothing is waterproof.Daily Schedule & Logistics
The Fjallabak region tends to work in daylight conditions at this time of year. With a lot of cloud cover the light is often soft. The deserts are black and there are many hills, so sunrise and sunset photography do not work here so well. So we’re taking advantage of the daylight and heading out after breakfast each morning for the entire day until we come back for dinner. There is only one place to stay and many of the locations are at least 1 hour away. So we’ve designed this trip so we head out after breakfast and stay out for the entire day until dinner. We will have a packed lunch during the daytime.Dietary Requirements & Vegetarians
Although the level of cuisine in Iceland is very good, the food choices are often limited to fish, lamb or beef most nights. Iceland has to import all its food except for those caught or raised locally.If you are vegetarian, your will have a vegetarian option each night, but this can be even more limited than what we have as a meat eating visitor! Please let me know of any special dietary requirements you may have.
